UNION TOWNSHIP BOARD OF EDUCATION

SPECIAL MEETING AGENDA - MAY 24, 2012

 

A.     Roll Call

B.     Flag Salute

C.     Open Public Meetings Act Statement

D.     Comments from the public on resolutions on the agenda

E.     Fiscal and Planning Committee

F-1.   The committee recommends and I so move that the Board approve the attached list of contracts and/or purchase orders pursuant to the requirements of N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5 and 18A:18A-10(a) and in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.

F-2.    The committee recommends and I so move that the Board pre-approve districtwide student field trip destinations and purposes pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-5.8 in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.

 

F.     Operations Committee:

O-1.     The committee recommends and I so move that the board allow Wonder Star Construction, Inc., 440 Route 31, Washington, NJ to withdraw their bid on the proposed masonry restoration at Franklin School project which was opened on May 10, 2012 in accordance with the information in the hands of each board member.

O-2.     The committee recommends and I so move that the board award bid for proposed masonry restoration at Franklin School project to Spartan Construction General Contracting, Inc., 395 Larkin Place, Oakhurst, NJ for the total bid amount of $772,000.

O-3         The committee recommends and I so move that the board approve the submission of the following projects to the Department of Education and to amend the Long Range Facility Plan to include them: (a) Replacement of boilers at Battle Hill Elementary School and (b) Renovation to Union High School Cafeteria including plumbing, electrical and HVAC. These  are “Other Capital” projects and the board is not seeking state funding for these projects.
